Timoteo “El Charro Negro”
Not since the nostalgic days of Nat King Cole, has there been an exciting African-American male vocalist that has embarked upon a cross-cultural goal with so much charisma. Timoteo “El Charro Negro” originally of Dallas, Texas, now based in Long Beach, California, sings in Spanish with great passion and conviction. The general public has enthusiastically embraced his innovative combination of music. The sound is an eclectic fusion of traditional Mexican ranchero music mixed with subtle embellishments of his African-American heritage and musical interpretation as evidenced in his most recent CD recording, "Me Regalo Contigo." In 2007, Timoteo “El Charro Negro” was invited to sing a solo on stage in the concert legendary Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez, who had sold out the Stockton Arena in California before more than 10,000 fans. After singing the song "De Que Manera Te Olvido,” the audience rose and applauded thunderously. The exciting performance that Timoteo “El Charro Negro” rendered that night glowed with brilliance like a star shooting in the midnight sky. Timoteo “El Charro Negro” was featured in "Sin Barreras con Sevec" on the Telemundo television network. He served as master of ceremonies for the 5th Denver, Colorado Mariachi Festival in 2005; in addition to that, Timoteo “El Charro Negro” has performed on "Don Francisco Presenta" Sabado Gigante ', 'EscandaloTV," "American Latino TV, "Latin Nation" among others. U.S. television has also shown interest in the originality of his talent. Major television networks like CBS, KTLA, ABC, and KCAL, Fox News, have all mentioned Timoteo “El Charro Negro” in their news segments; several articles have been written on the talents of Timoteo “El Charro Negro” in prominent newspapers and magazines, including The Los Angeles Times, People En Español, La Opinión, TeleGuiaUSA, Press-telegram, and the Sacramento Bee.
